Founder & Head of Disputes

The practice is led by Mr. Makarand Bakore, an accomplished litigation lawyer with over 15 years of courtroom experience. He represents corporates, institutions and private clients in complex civil and commercial disputes, with particular strength in trial strategy, procedural structuring, and final arguments.

Trained in the chambers of Mr. Atul Damle, Senior Counsel, Bombay High Court, Mr. Bakore brings a rigorous courtroom discipline grounded in doctrinal clarity and strategic advocacy. His practice spans original side and appellate proceedings, with regular appearances before Bombay High Court and other civil courts / authorities.

 

Institutional & Professional Engagement

Mr. Bakore served as Panel Advocate to the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa for over seven years. He is registered with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa and maintains active engagement with the professional legal community.

 

Academic & Thought Leadership

Beyond courtroom practice, Mr. Bakore has contributed to scholarship in public law and governance. He edited Ward Power: Decentralised Urban Governance and Handbook on New Public Governance, and published monographs on Public Disclosure Law, the 74th Constitutional Amendment and Community Participation Law.

 

He has taught Business Law to management students, delivered public policy lectures and seminars, and was invited by the Government of Tripura to present on the Right to Information Act, 2005. Mr. Bakore holds an LL.M. in Constitutional Law and a Diploma in Cyber Law. His prior academic training in Computer Engineering (B.E.) and Marketing Management (PGDBM) informs the firm’s approach to technology-driven disputes and complex commercial structuring issues.
